Villages manicurist arrested after altercation with stepson over chores

A Villages manicurist was arrested after an altercation with his stepson over household chores.

David Duy Tran, 55, was arrested early Friday morning on a charge of domestic battery at his home on Deborah Avenue in Leesburg.

His 15-year-old stepson claimed Tran had scratched his neck “in two or three places while trying to grab him,” according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

Tran told police that he went into his stepson’s room to tell him to get his clean clothes from the living room and put them away. Tran said his stepson yelled back at him and refused to listen.

Trans also police that his stepson “is lazy and does not do his chores around the home.”

The teen had suffered “minor bleeding,” the report said.

Tran was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $5,000 bond.
