To the Editor:
Another Christmas and another year on the dying planet. It is so hard to be Ho Ho Ho.
Who knows what the new year offers an old cowgirl? But hey, I don’t think of me as old, yet looking back on our parents…gosh they were old at our age.
Do our kids see us as old?
You bet they do.
I often wonder who will stand by the others casket. As our friends pass on and we value each other more and more. Sometimes we just believe we will live forever and that we will always be there for each other. If only that were true.
Reflections at this time of giving at times makes me wonder what kind of world our grandchildren will live in.
Will there be elephants, or giraffes? Clean water will become the new oil, and will it be too little too late to save the earth.
Can we do more?
Should we do more?
As the kid from Sweden said, “Your house is on fire and you do nothing.” Greta Thunberg
As we count our stock dividends and the rich value that big tax cut. Our president is fighting to make cars bigger in California.
Our President has leveraged his position and held back aid to investigate what he perceives as his greatest threat politically. Worse yet, he continues to lie, and his party lies with and for him. I must believe that Americans are tired of this lying. Certainly, we do not want this man to be our grandchildren’s role model.
I wonder if I go into a bank with a gun and ask for money and leave before I get it, is that ok? Because I will just say I didn’t do it, because I didn’t get it. Right?
Perhaps it is true of the greatest generation. Those who fought in WWII, a common enemy. Americans were a fighting unit as one, Jew, Christians, Muslims, non-believers a tapestry of colors went to war together. This generation certainly knew what the code of military conduct was. Would they stand by a dead body and give it the thumbs up? Would they say it was ok for a President to lie, cheat and fill his own pockets day after day after day after day?
No, I don’t think so.
Are we that far gone as a nation to not see right from wrong? Do we care more about the money than the planet?
Is Man Kind?
Remember when paying off a porn star got you kicked out of office?
Geez…am I old now?
We are living in a “Reality Show Nation” we don’t watch smart TV we worship the Kardashians, won’t miss real housewives of somewhere, how about Naked and afraid?
I am not naked, but I am afraid for our America.
Money is the root of all evil and it is taking over the USA.
We don’t care about education, but Dow Jones and NASDAQ.
It has always puzzled me that the only tax we get to vote on is the Local School Tax. Oh, we pass it when Johnny is playing football, but we GEEZERS only care about the nest egg now.
Perhaps we all have osteoporosis of the spine, crumbling to our morals that we were taught in church as we profess to be a nation founded on God.
Proudly printed on our money: In God we Trust.
I trust God is weeping, as we watch our planet die, poverty in American we can’t fix nor care to. Watching as hate grows and White Supremacy is on the rise. America where you can get shot anywhere. Oh yeah, it is the birthday of his Son Jesus.
Peace on Earth and all.
I often wonder how those who refuse to believe in science will get the very latest medical advancement from science yet let the planet die.
Yes, the stock thing. Fracking up the nation: money money money.
How shall you sleep this year?
Ahh so this is Christmas.
