A member of a prominent family which runs several successful restaurants in The Villages spent the night in jail after his arrest on a charge of battery.
Nathaniel “Nate” Andrew Suleiman, 23, was booked at 1 a.m. Sunday at the Sumter County Detention Center following his arrest by Wildwood police. The Ormond Beach resident was initially held without bond. He was released at 5:22 p.m. Sunday after his bond was set at $100.
The arrest report was not available over the weekend.
He is part of the Suleiman family which operates Red Sauce and Johnny Rockets at Lake Sumter Landing, as well as the restaurants at Nancy Lopez Country Club and Havana Country Club.

Last month, the Suleiman family cut the ribbon at the Milano Ristorante Italiano in Ocala. They took over the former Chefs of Napoli location after its founder was arrested on human trafficking charges.
It’s not the first time a member of the Suleiman family has run afoul of the law.
David Suleiman, 33, was arrested July 27, 2017 on a warrant charging him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with an altercation involving an employee at the Heart of The Villages cardiology clinic.
However, the prosecutor’s office ultimately decided not to proceed with that case.
