Humane Society volunteers to provide gift wrapping at Barnes & Noble

Shoppers at Barnes & Noble in Lake Sumter Landing will soon find volunteers from YOUR Humane Society SPCA in Sumter County standing by to wrap their purchases.

The volunteers will be at the store from Thursday, Dec. 19 through Tuesday, Dec. 24. Gift wrapping will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily and on Christmas Eve until the store closes at 6 p.m.

The wrapping service is free but donations to the no-kill shelter will be appreciated so volunteers can help the homeless, adoptable animals in need during the holiday season. Shoppers also will be encouraged to give an adoptable animal the best gift of all – themselves!

YOUR Humane Society SPCA, formerly known as the Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County Inc., is a non-profit, no-kill organization helping animals in need throughout the community. It also is Sumter County’s oldest and largest no-kill shelter.

Donations directly help cover the cost of saving, treating and caring for neglected, abused and abandoned animals. Learn more at hsspca.org, by calling (352) 793-9117, on Facebook by clicking HERE or by visiting the shelter at 994 CR 529A in Lake Panasoffkee. The facility is open Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Kennel Pet viewing is available Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Visitors are always welcome.
