A loud heavy-drinking neighbor was arrested after a fed-up grandmother living nearby called 911.
Multiple Wildwood police officers responded Sunday night to a home at 804 Lee St. where 41-year-old Misbel Rodriguez Garcia was in an “elevated verbal argument with his wife outside of their residence, which disturbed the surrounding neighbors,” according to the arrest report.
A neighbor said Garcia and his wife were “arguing, screaming and cussing” and added that it occurs “frequently” when the couple consumes alcohol. She said in the past she has asked them to quiet down so her grandson could sleep. She was told to, “Shut up.”
When approached by officers, Garcia was “non-compliant.” He had also called 911 twice for “non-emergency issues.”
Garcia was arrested on charges of misuse of 911 and disturbing the peace. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $2,000 bond.
