Two food trucks shut down at southern end of The Villages

Two food trucks have shut down at the southern end of The Villages.

This sign was posted outside Ednas’ Provisions and Vittles.

A sign has been posted outside the Ednas’ Provisions & Vittles food truck announcing it will be “closing this week as a safety precaution.” The handwritten sign indicates the food truck, which remains parked at the Cattail Recreation Center in the Village of Marsh Bend “will reopen very soon!”

Gone from the Cattail Recreation Center parking lot is the Rita’s Cocina Mexicana food truck. It was announced this past Friday that the Rita’s Cocina Mexicana food truck would “temporarily close for maintenance and repairs.” The operators of Rita’s Cocina Mexicana food truck have vowed to return April 5.

Chuck’s Wagon Food Truck, right, was dispatched to the southern end of The Villages after the departure of Rita’s Cocina Mexican

Chuck’s Wagon Food Truck has been dispatched from the Brownwood Hotel & Spa to fill the void for hungry residents of Fenney, Linden, DeSoto and other Villages south of State Road 44. An employee at Chuck’s Wagon Food Truck said Monday the food truck will remain open as long as it has food to serve.

Ednas’ Provisions and Vittles is closed in the Village of Marsh Bend.

The dining room at the Fenney Grill has been closed, thanks to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ order earlier this month shutting down in-restaurant dining across the state. The Fenney Grill remains open for takeout.
