Temple Shalom Brotherhood makes special delivery to local first responders

The Brotherhood of Temple Shalom of Central Florida made a special delivery to first responders last week.

Temple Shalom Brotherhood President Marty Simon and Treasurer Marty Riefs presented donuts to Sumter County Sheriff’s Lt. Robert Siemer, top photo, and Villages Public Safety Deputy Fire Chief James Goodworth last week.

The group was represented by President Marty Simon, of the Village of Pine Ridge, and Treasurer Marty Riefs, of the Village of Collier. They spent a good part of Tuesday delivering the 30 dozen donuts, with each box containing a personal thank you or appreciation letter.

Lt. Robert Siemer received the donuts at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office on County Road 466. Villages Public Safety Deputy Fire Chief James Goodworth accepted the gift at the department’s headquarters building on Morse Boulevard.

The donuts were distributed by the firefighters to nine fire stations, UF Health The Villages Hospital and UF Health Leesburg Hospital.

Temple Shalom is located at 13536 County Rd. 101 in Oxford. For more information, visit www.tscfl.org.
