Bad Parking in The Villages

To the Editor:

I have seen examples of “privileged” parking everywhere I have lived. The “Beer Runs” are a daily thing. Just before the “epidemic,” I came out of Publix, saw a very young man, no older than 30s at most, park in the nearest handicapped spot and literally RUN into the liquor store!
But it’s obvious when you publish pictures of those who, like myself, have had to pull up (like your picture at the Winn-Dixie) as close as possible to the area in front of the store to help your wheelchair bound family member, have never experienced anything like that. Good for you, you are one of the lucky ones. This is a RETIREMENT COMMUNITY with many disabled, and even recently hospitalized residents. Not a good policy to use their pictures for your comedy. Think, one day it “could” be you or your family member. Be kind, it will make you a better person, it really will. The “beer run type” will always be with us where ever we live, in any state.
