Lisa Kass

A New York woman who had threatened suicide in the Village of Fenney was arrested after she allegedly struck a police officer.

Emergency personnel were called at about 5:30 p.m. Monday to a home on Trumpet Vine Place where 46-year-old Lisa Kass was in a bedroom with a knife indicating she wanted to kill herself, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. She was “very emotionally distraught,” the report said.

A medical crew put Kass on a stretcher to be transported to the Life Stream Behavioral Center, but she resisted their efforts. She tried to get off the stretcher, but a police officer tried to hold her down. She struck the police officer with her fist.

Kass was arrested on a felony charge of battery on a law enforcement officer. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $2,000 bond.
