To the Editor:
We have three adult citrus trees in our side yard here in The Villages. Two are orange and one is grapefruit. We like to pick from those trees periodically and squeeze them for juice. Several weeks ago my husband went out to pick some more oranges and came back in and told me that there was not an orange or grapefruit on any tree – at any height. Interestingly enough my sister rides a bicycle almost daily sometimes in the middle of the night. In passing, we told her about our trees being bare and she said that was interesting because the other night as she was riding around midnight by the hospital she saw two men walking, one with a very long stick and the other with a large bag slung over his shoulder.
Hmmm? If this has happened to you please let your local law enforcement agency know so that they can ascertain whether we were the only ones chosen for the loss or if it is a common occurrence.
