A Wildwood woman was jailed after an alleged necklace-breaking attack on another woman.
Judy Lynn Berry, 48, was tracked down shortly before midnight Tuesday at the Circle K service station on Main Street in Wildwood after the alleged attack.
A woman told Sumter County sheriff’s deputies that she had been walking to her car when “she was jumped” by Berry, according to an arrest report. She said they “never went to the ground, but a lot of pushing, grabbing and shoving occurred,” the report said.
The woman had suffered a one-inch scratch on the side of her neck. The two necklaces she had been wearing were broken and her right hoop-style earring was bent during the physical altercation, the report said. She said Berry had been texting and calling her cell phone “making threats of violence.”
Berry was arrested on a charge of battery. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,000 bond.
