To the Editor:
I agree that the Recreation News be published once a month. Residents could then make plans for the month instead of waiting to see what is upcoming in the next weekly edition.
When I first moved to The Villages almost 11 years ago, one of the things I looked for in the Recreation News was the clubs that I might be interested in. All of the state clubs were published each week, with contact info made available. I became a member of The Florida Club as I moved here from south Florida. Then the club lists were deleted and only published if an announcement of a meeting was submitted. I can’t tell you how many people I have met who moved here from elsewhere in Florida and don’t know there is a Florida Club. I think its because no one wants to go through the Recreation News listings each week – there are so many clubs now it has become overwhelming.
