CDD 7 supervisor resigns after announcing move out of The Villages

A Community Development District 7 supervisor has resigned after announcing his move out of The Villages.

Mark Gallo got emotional Thursday morning when he read a resignation letter to his fellow board members. His resignation will be effective June 30.

Gallo said he and his wife are moving to Naples.

The Anita Villas resident was appointed to the board in 2017. He also was the Villages Homeowners Advocates director for Region 7. He served 31 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a lieutenant colonel.

His vacancy will be filled by appointment.
