Grandmother taken by ambulance from crash in The Villages

A grandmother was taken by ambulance to Ocala Regional Medical Center after a crash Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Morse Boulevard and County Road 466 in The Villages.

The airbag deployed in this vehicle which was involved in the crash.

The accident occurred at about 3:15 p.m. and involved two vehicles, both of which were towed from the scene. Two women at the scene confirmed that their grandmother had been traveling in one of the vehicles and was taken to the Ocala hospital.

A door had been removed from a white four-door vehicle involved in the accident and it revealed that an air bag had deployed.

This vehicle sustained front-end damage in the crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol is taking the lead in the investigation into the crash. The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control.
