Officials with Lake County Public Schools are disputing a social media post claiming schools won’t reopen in the fall.
“While there are still some uncertainties about next school year, we do expect to reopen in the fall with safety protocols,” a release from the school district said. “Exactly how that will look remains to be seen.”
The district also is soliciting input through surveys for employees and students/parents. District staff will make decisions based on that feedback, public input shared at school board meetings and directly with school board members, guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, directives from Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Florida Department of Education. Details will be shared by the school district as soon as those decisions are finalized.
The employee survey, accessible when employees are signed into their work-related Google account, can be accessed by clicking HERE. The parent/student survey can be found by clicking HERE. The surveys will remain open through 5 p.m. Friday, June 12.
