Smash Productions is preparing to hold open auditions for its newest production titled “The Honeymooners – From New York to The Villages.”
The auditions will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 9 and Nov. 16. Auditions will be on a scheduled appointment basis so social distancing can take place.
The show will be held next year on April 5, 6 and 7 at Savannah Center. Tickets go on sale in January.
The play is an original script by Villagers Carol Azzarone-Onuschak and Tina Shapiro about a visit to The Villages from The Honeymooners and their friends. It starts in Brooklyn and culminates in a big banquet and dance in The Villages.
All Speaking roles are open including the main four cast members: Ralph and Alice Cramden and Ed and Trixie Norton. Supporting cast includes neighbors from New York, lodge members and several Villages residents.
There is no need to prepare anything as those auditioning will read from a script. Those wishing to familiarize themselves with the characters can watch old Honeymooners Episodes on television or on YouTube.
