James Benton “JJ” Johnson passed away peacefully at home on November 1, 2020 at the age of 73.
JJ was born in New Salem, Texas on April 8, 1947 to Benton and Anna Johnson and spent most of his life working for NASA in Houston, Alabama, and Florida. After a long and successful career, JJ retired to The Villages, FL with his wife Rebecca (Becky) Johnson. He had a personality that you couldn’t help but love and was a fierce and loyal friend to so many.
He is survived by his loving wife Becky, his children Rhianna Burns, Ryan Johnson, Bradley Johnson, Joe Rackley, David Rackley, and James Rackley, ten grandchildren, his sister Joy Hand, numerous nieces and nephews, and other loving family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Ted Johnson and Leo Johnson. A celebration of life ceremony will be held in the coming months in The Villages for all friends and family to pay their respects and celebrate such an incredible man.
Funeral services will be held in Henderson, TX on Thursday November 12, 2020 at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home Chapel.
