Villager’s painting among 75 pieces being shown in Louisiana exhibition

Nancy Dias recently learned that her painting “Short Circuit” was juried into the 2021 Louisiana 51st Annual International Exhibition.

‘Short Circuit’

The event will be held virtually May 1-21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Juror Thomas Schaller selected 75 paintings for the show. Of those, 27 are from other countries such as Russia, China, Germany, France, Canada, Malaysia, Greece, Hong Kong, Honduras and Spain. You can find the list of accepted artists by clicking HERE. The show will be available to view May 1 when awards will be announced.

Dias’ “Short Circuit” was previously awarded first place in Artists Magazine’s Annual International Competition, 3rd Award of Excellence in the Tallahassee Tri-State Competition and the Merit Award in Central Florida’s Annual Competition. It also was an entry in the Florida Watercolor Society’s Annual National Competition, of which Dias, of the Village of Piedmont, is a Signature Member.

This marks Dias’ second acceptance in the LWS International. One more such honor will earn her Signature Member status for that organization as well. Dias is a Village of Piedmont resident.
