
Carolyn Johnson, 83, of the Villages, Florida, passed away on March 1, 2021 of complications related to COVID-19.
The daughter of Richard and Anita Lohman, Carolyn was born in Chicago, IL. She received a BA in Psychology from Lawrence College in Appleton, WI, and a MA from the University of Delaware in Newark, DE. Carolyn was a small business owner, owning a H & R Block franchise in the Lehigh Valley for many years. She was also highly active with AAUW and the League of Women Voters (LWV) for much of her life. For LWV, she served in leadership positions in the local chapters in both Lehigh County, PA and the Villages, FL. For the AAUW in Florida she was a member of the scholarship committee which provided annual scholarships for women in the area. Carolyn was also an active volunteer in the community and served on the resident council at her retirement community of Elan Buena Vista.
Carolyn was an avid artist who created paintings in watercolors and oils throughout her life. She also loved playing bridge and other card games with her friends and family. She enjoyed travelling and visited countries on all the world’s continents except Antarctica.
She is survived by her son Richard of Whitehall, PA, her nieces Erica of Philadelphia, PA and Laura of Atlanta, GA and her brother-in-law, Ronald, also of Atlanta, GA. She was predeceased by her husband, Tom, and her daughter, Theresa.
There will be a celebration of her life planned at a later, safer date.
