
Maureen Rowland was born in Schenectady, NY September 10, 1932 and lived in Scotia, NY until moving to Florida in 2002. She passed peacefully at home with her family by her side on March 23, 2021.
Graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School. Employed by Golub Corporation (Price Chopper), 1st National Bank of Schenectady NY and many years as a dental assistant. She was very active in the Schenectady County dental auxiliary.
Once Maureen moved to Florida, she was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. She was an active member and former sacristan.
In Maureen’s free time she was an active member of the Garden and Bridge Club also enjoyed entertaining at her home in NY. She was an Aerobic instructor in NY and continued taking classes once she moved to Florida and enjoyed line dancing. She also volunteered in the reading program in The Villages Elementary, Florida for 3 yrs.
Predeceased by her husband Dr. John Rowland Jr. and her parents P. Henry and Caroline Mulhall. Married to Dr. John Rowland Jr. in 1957. They were married or 63 years. Survived by a son James Rowland of Scotia, NY and a daughter Brenda Asmus of Ballston Spa, NY. Survived by six grandchildren Harley Huxhold, Luke Huxhold, Nadine Donovan, Alexandria Palma, John Rowland and Kaia Rowland and seven great grandchildren.
