Michael Formisano

Michael Patrick Formisano, of Summerfield, Florida entered his eternal home on July 29, 2021 after a very brief illness. He was born on August 28, 1946 to Josephine Bartolata and Dominick D. Formisano in Middletown, Ct. He graduated from New Paltz High school in 1964 and went to work for IBM until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until 1966 on the USS Lloyd Thomas and on shore duty in in Vietnam until 1969 when he returned to IBM and retired from their employment after 30 years of service. One of his passions was music and he and his dear longtime friend Joe Vaccarino started a band known as The Klassics that entertained hundreds of guests weekly for may years at the Granit Hotel in The Catskills region of New York’s Hudson Valley.

Michael relocated to Florida in 2004 where he met the love of his life Nancy. They were married January 26, 2008 and have spent the last 13 years of their life together serving their Savior in many ministries at Village View Community church. Michael was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and friend whose priorities were God, family and friends. He was predeceased by his son Vincent Mario Formisano in 2019. He will be missed by those left behind. His wife Nancy Sherman Formisano of Summerfield, Fl. Father Dominick D. (Cele) of Summerfield, FL. Sons Michael D. of Concord, Ca: Joseph of Bristol, Ct, Kenneth (Margaret) of New Paltz, N.Y. and grandchildren Nadia and Maya Formisano of Kingston, N.Y. and Sister Diana Formisano of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. In addition, his extended family, David (Melissa) Steed of Oxford, Fl, Tracy (Stephen) James of Orange Park, Fl. and Shawn R. (Tammy) Sherman. Winter Haven, Fl and grandchildren Joshua James, Megan E. (John) Morris, Orange Park Fl, Stephanie A. Steed- Pittsfield, Ma. Jordan M. (Luke) Sears of Belleview, FL , Dylan Steed and Hayley M. Steed of Oxford, Fl and Zachary George Sherman of Winter Haven, Fl.

A Celebration of his Life will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 – doors open at 9:30 with the service to begin at 11:30 a.m. and will be live steamed for those unable to attend by logging ontowww.villageviewchurch.com and clicking on live stream.
