Susan Schroeder, 81, of The Villages, passed away on Monday, August 2nd after a long and incredibly courageous battle with cancer, she went home to her Lord. She maintained an absolute positive attitude through the entire time of her sickness because of her strong Christian Faith.

Sue was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended Schurz High School, graduating in 1958. Sue still had a strong relationship with several of her classmates. She then attended nursing school but chose the dentistry field instead. In 1961 she got married to her longtime love and spent over 60 wonderful years with her husband.

She leaves behind her husband, Glen, her 2 sons, Paul and Jack, her sister, Nancy DeVries and their families.

Sue was a very active, people loving person and strong athlete who excelled at tennis, golf and bowling. But when she moved to the Villages in 2004, she discovered a passion she hadn’t exercised in a long while. Dancing! She was a member of The Way Way Off Broadway Dance Group, The Music in Motion Dance Group, The Diamond Production Dance Group and The Me and My Gang Cloggers. Sue loved every minute of practicing, costuming and theater production shows. Her church life was very important to her and she was always active in many different capacities. But best of all, she was a fantastic wife and a stay-at-home mother, who always put her family first.

Sue would help anyone anytime she saw a need. In lieu of flowers and donations, the family asks if you would do a random act of kindness in honor of Sue, just like she would do.

A service will be held at Fairway Christian Church, 251 Avenida Los Angelos, near CR466 and Morse Blvd, The Villages, Florida, on Thursday, August 26th, at 10:30 AM.
