Michael Preston Taylor, age 32 of Lake Panasoffkee, FL, passed away August 16, 2021 at the UF Health Leesburg Hospital. Michael was born in Brooksville, FL, on October 16, 1988 to James V. Taylor and Elizabeth Coppock Connell. He was employed as a Detention Deputy for the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and Baptist by faith. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shannon (Reams) Taylor; his 4 children: Kaleb, Kyler, Kaden, and Kalyn Taylor; his mother Elizabeth Connell and her husband Richard; his father, James Taylor and his wife Diana; 3 brothers: Chris Taylor and his wife, Teonna, and their 4 children: Cheyenne, Dakota, Blake, and Aaron, Matthew Taylor and his wife Haylee, and their son, Taron, and Zachary Taylor and his wife, Celie; mother in-law: Susan Parris; father in-law: Greg Reams; sisters in-law: Sierra Parris and her children, Aniyah and Jayla; Audrey Reams and her daughter Aamori; and brother in-law: Clem Reams. Michael attended Lake Panasoffkee Elementary, South Sumter Middle, and graduated from South Sumter High in 2007. In 2008, he met Shannon, the love of his life and they married in 2013. Together they have four beautiful children. He is a 10 year veteran of the Sumter County Detention Center, where he earned the award of Excellent Marksmanship, among other awards from his time in the academy. A Celebration of Life Service for Michael is scheduled for Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Inverness with Mr. John Farfaglia officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Bushnell where Honors will be rendered by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Friends are invited to visit the family on Tuesday, at the church, from 10:00 AM until the service begins at 11:00 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness. In lieu of flowers, donations to his beautiful wife and four children would be accepted and appreciated.
