To the Editor:
I am a United States citizen who escaped from Communist Cuba in 1962. Today, I share an important message with many of my Florida friends; I am very concerned with the actions of the current Democratic Party. Their support of socialist doctrines is frightening and, in my experience, will lead to a collapse of the Democratic system of Government we enjoy today. Let me try and explain how Communism works:
1. All businesses become ownership of the Communist government.
2. All houses of worship, regardless of denomination, are closed and buildings become property of the government.
3. All guns of any type become property of the government via confiscation.
4. All schools become part of the government and all teachers are part of government
5. There is only one employer, the government
6. In every block of housing a family is moved in to report on what all people living in the block do, including traveling (which is prohibited unless you have permission granted only through the government)
7. All cars, trucks or any other form of possible transportation is confiscated and belong to the government (they are assigned to people based on what they accomplish for the government)
8. The police and Army have the right to enter your home at any time regardless of reason
9. Jails and prisons are deplorable. Torture and beatings are commonplace
10. You can be arrested for no reason. You won’t see a judge or be heard. If you are lucky you will be released in a few days but for many it is months. In Communist Countries you are guilty until proven innocent.
11. Food is rationed. You cannot purchase anything unless it is on your ration card.
Although what I describe is Communism, the Socialist doctrines being supported by many in the Democratic party often leads to full Communism. They spy, infiltrate schools, and ration to take total control. As a child, we were instructed to pray to Fidel Castro and the all-powerful revolution versus Jesus and the Virgin Mary. We were told to spy on our parents.
Communism has not worked anywhere. Today’s “Useful idiots” blame the crises in Cuba on the “imperialistic bloc.” We (the United States) ship Cuba pharmaceuticals, food, and do not keep other countries from trading with them.
Look at the attack on our second amendment rights, the curriculums being introduced in schools, the efforts to erase history and the Marxist concepts being disseminated by groups supported by Democrats. Think hard when you vote in the upcoming local, state, and federal elections. The change wanted by a few will cripple us all If allowed to succeed.
