Bill could impact the residents of The Villages immensely

To the Editor:

Medicare came into existence in 1965 without any coverage for hearing, dental or vision care and was never updated.
Legislation is currently being negotiated in Congress with zero support from Republicans that will provide coverage for hearing, dental and vision care. The $3.5 trillion Democratic Plan currently being written has updates to Medicare as a key part of the legislation, if passed by Congress and signed into law by President Biden. There is a lot of hope for the passage of this bill which will impact the residents of The Villages immensely. We should know the results by the end of this month or early next month.
