Katherine “Sissy” Brooks, 86 of Lady Lake, Florida went home to be with her savior, Sunday, June 26, 2022.

She was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on March 14, 1936, the daughter of the late Clarence “Brookie” Brookshier and Mildred Metcalf Brookshier. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years James Wilford Brooks, a daughter Jamie Wraye Brooks, and a brother Clarence “Renny” Brookshier. She was a Rubatex employee for 36 years and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Jean Parks and her husband Bill, Belinda Ann Karnes and her husband David, all of Lady Lake, Florida; one grandson, Brandon Karnes and his wife Jaclyn; two great-grandchildren, Sean Karnes and Elizabeth Karnes; one great-great-grandson, Ashlee Karnes and one brother, Larry “Donnie” Brookshier, all of Bedford, Virginia. Katherine will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

There will be a private service at a later date at the Brooks Family Cemetery in Franklin County, Virginia.
