A driver was injured after crashing into a palm tree in The Villages.
The man had been southbound on Buena Vista Boulevard near Bonita Boulevard at 5:45 p.m. Sunday when, for an unknown reason, his vehicle entered into the median and struck a palm tree, according to the Sumter County Sherif’s Office.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to UF Health-The Villages Hospital. He was ticketed on a charge of careless driving.
The Villages Public Safety Department also responded to the scene of the crash.
