Robert “Bob” Marano, age 85, of The Villages, FL., passed away peacefully on September 12th, 2023 after a long battle with cancer and congestive heart failure. His beloved wife Maria and daughter Kim were by his side.

He was the youngest of three born June 12th, 1938, to Salvatore and Jeannie Marano, in White Plains, New York.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, two children, Kimberly Scappaticci (Richard), Tracy Fumarelli, six grandchildren: Richard Scappaticci Jr., Dominique, Jessie, and Jade Fumarelli, Arianna Marano-Perpepaj, Demi Marano-Corveddu and two great grandchildren: Rocco and Remy Perpepaj.

He was preceded in death by his son Robert Marano Jr. and two sisters Jean Barry and Angie Olson.

He Graduated from White Plains High School where he was a passionate athlete playing varsity Football and Baseball. After graduation he went into the United States Air Force.

Bob spent a career of 38 years in the painting contractor business working for Wallauer Paint & Decorating Company, located in White Plains, NY, where he met Maria. He enjoyed his position as General Manager for the sixteen Wallauer locations throughout Westchester, developing many lasting professional and personal relationships.

Bob retired and moved to The Villages Florida with his wife Maria Marano of 30 years. Life couldn’t get any better. Bob enjoyed all The Villages had to offer. He played on a traveling softball team and travelled all over with Maria who was his biggest fan. He played division one softball in The Villages, was a good Golfer and enjoyed Pickleball. Bob and Maria were members of the Portuguese club where they enjoyed mingling and traveling with friends.

With his happy smile & outgoing nature he was loved by all that knew him and will be sorely missed.

A “Celebration Of Life” will be held On October 16th 2:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, FL 32162.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be taken for a memorial bench in memory of Bob. Donations will be accepted at Paypal.me/Bob Marano or send checks payable to Bob Marano: c/o Scappaticci 2175 Tallsman Court, The Villages Fl. 32163. Donated funds beyond the cost of purchasing the bench will be sent to the Cancer Research Center in Memory of Bob Marano.
