A driver was transported by ambulance to a local hospital after crashing into a palm tree in The Villages.
The driver was westbound on County Road 466A at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday when the vehicle apparently left the roadway and crashed into a palm tree at Sumter Senior Living.
The driver, who appeared to have been traveling alone, was loaded onto a stretcher and then into an ambulance operated by The Villages Public Safety Department.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
