Lady Lake – Geraldine ‘Gerry’ E. Tobia, 90, passed away September 22, 2023 at her home in Florida. She was born May 3, 1933, in Brooklyn NY, the daughter of the late Angela and Pat Riso.

Following high school, Gerry had a successful business career at Crane & Co and Redwing Products.

On September 5, 1969, she married John M. Tobia and they settled in New Hyde Park, Long Island, NY before moving to Massapequa, NY and finally to Lady Lake, FL. They celebrated 54 years of marriage in September.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Emily and Julianne. Surviving, in addition to her husband John M. Tobia, are her sister, Kathleen Veglia; her son, John Tobia of Buffalo, NY; two grandchildren Christina, and her husband Tom Cao, from Lawrenceville, NJ ; Gerry, and her husband Matt Swiatek, from East Windsor, NJ ; four great grandchildren Aidan, Madison, Molly, and Sophie; many nieces and nephews.

A mass in Gerry honor was held at St. Timothy RC Church, Lady Lake, FL. A Celebration of Life will be held in Florida at a future date.
