Spencer Baum, age 76, of The Villages, FL, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family during his final moments.

Spencer was born on September 15, 1947 in Syracuse, NY. He grew up in Camillus, NY and attended West Genesee High School. After completing his education, Spencer was employed by the New York State Department of Mental Health for 38 years.

Spencer will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for his family. He was a devoted spouse to Lynn (Downey) Baum for 54 years. He was a loving father to Kevin of Morristown, NJ, Derek of Lady Lake, FL, Meghan (Patrick) McGowan of Buffalo, NY and a doting grandfather to Evelyn and Callahan. Spencer’s family meant everything to him.

Spencer was an active parishioner in St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in Syracuse, NY. He enjoyed his duties as a Eucharistic minister and his role in the RCIA program. When he moved to The Villages, he became a parishioner on St. Timothy R.C. Church. He coached Westvale Pop Warner Football and he loved the game of golf. He was blessed with 2 hole-in-ones while living in The Villages. He had a passion for the New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys. He was known for his sense of humor.

As per his request, a Celebration of Life was held with his family and friends.

Spencer will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
