Eileen LaSalle
September 29, 1937 – March 22, 2024

Eileen Bernadette LaSalle (Kelly), 86, formerly of The Villages, passed away March 22, 2024. Surrounded by her family and escorted by angels, Eileen left this world peacefully to be reunited with family, friends and her husband and dearest companion, Pete.

The youngest of six to Eugene and Marie Kelly, Eileen grew up with fond memories of her childhood in Minneapolis. Many of her lifelong friends were from her neighborhood and school. She met Pete on a blind date shortly after he returned home from military service in Germany. They were married in the fall of 1957 and raised their family in the Twin Cities area. They moved to Fort Myers in the 1990s and later to The Villages, Florida. They returned to Minnesota to visit family and friends every summer.

Eileen moved back to Minnesota in her later years to be closer to her family. Eileen loved to joke and laugh. She made friends everywhere she went with her charming smile and compliments. She was extremely social, always conjuring up a reason to get together. Eileen enjoyed traveling, skiing, golfing, hosting parties, and virtually any activity as long as it involved people. She dearly loved her family and adored Palmer, her feline buddy.

Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Culver “Pete” LaSalle; parents Eugene and Marie (Wetle) Kelly; sisters, Donna Peterson, Betty Peterson, Lorraine Keske, Pat Melody; and brother and close friend, Jimmy Kelly. Eileen will be greatly missed by sons, Todd (Kathy), Mark (Lynn) and Scott (Denise); grandchildren, Jake, Jessie, Max (Jen), Charlie (Kristina) and Maddie; great-grandchildren, Sloane and Sawyer; sister-in-law, Sheila Kelly; and many relatives and friends. She will look over and guide from above, two great-grandchildren due to arrive soon.

A private service for the immediate family took place at Gill Brothers Funeral Services in Bloomington followed by interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A special thanks to all at Savage Senior Living, the Moments of Lakeville and Minnesota Hospice for their kindness and compassionate care.
