The Developer is poised to sell off some of the amenities south of State Road 44 for $258 million.

The Sumter Landing Community Development District Board is scheduled to finalize the price of the purchase from the Developer in a a meeting set for 1:30 p.m. Monday at SeaBreeze Recreation Center

The recreation facilities to be purchased using residents’ amenity money include five executive golf courses, 28 swimming pools, recreation centers, pitch and putt courses, softball fields and dog parks located in Community Development District 12 and Community Development 13.

CDD 12 includes the villages of Fenney, DeLuna, DeSoto, Linden and Monarch Grove. CDD 13 includes the villages of Bradford, Cason Hammock, Chitty Chatty, Citrus Grove, Hawkins, Richmond, St. Catherine and St. Johns

Last month, District Manager Kenny Blocker said residents will not notice a change.

“This will be a seamless transition and residents will not be impacted by the purchase and the District believes, as outlined, it will be in their long term benefit,” Blocker said.

Oversight of the amenities will fall to the Project Wide Advisory Committee which already includes representatives from CDD 12 and CDD 13.
