A Summerfield woman was arrested after allegedly threatening her boyfriend with a razor blade to show him a “real monster.”
A deputy responded to a domestic disturbance that happened in a vehicle somewhere near the On Top of the World subdivision in Ocala on Monday evening, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
The deputy met with the victim who advised that he was driving home from work when his girlfriend, 38-year-old Amber Marie Mulliner, struck him with open and closed fists several times on the head and arm. To defend himself, he held up his right arm, resulting in him being scratched, the report said.
When the victim dropped his arm from the pain of being scratched, Mulliner continued punching him. One of the punches was so hard it split his head open. She then threatened him with a straight razor blade from a black plastic retention sleeved box cutter, the report said.
Mulliner held the razor blade in the victim’s direction, motioning it back and forth while yelling at him for hiding the razor blade. She stated, “If you think I’m a monster, then I’ll show you a real monster.” This statement coupled with her actions scared the victim, the report said.
Despite the victim asking Mulliner to stop, she repeated her actions. He proceeded to grab the knife by the plastic with two fingers to ensure he did not cut himself. He put the razor blase in the driver’s side door pocket to keep her away from it, the report said.
The deputy observed a cut on the victim’s forehead and scratches on his arm that were consistent with his statement, the report said.
The victim also allowed law enforcement inside his garage to get the razor blade from the driver’s side door pocket of the vehicle. He confirmed that the one taken was the same used by Mulliner during the incident, the report said.
Contact was made with Mulliner who advised that nothing happened. She also refused to speak with the deputy. However, a criminal history check revealed she was convicted of battery in October 2018, of burglary with assault or battery in December 2018 and of battery in July 2019, the report said.
Mulliner was subsequently arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and battery (second or subsequent offense). She was transported to Marion County Jail to be held without bond.
