Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the female victim who advised that she and 31-year-old Jesse Stuart Harrison got into a verbal disagreement. He believed she had taken his cell phone. Prior to his arrival, she went to talk with him at his residence, located at 3749 CR 511A, Wildwood, the report said.

While there, Harrison accused the victim of taking his phone and became very irate. This caused her to leave his residence and go back to her own. She then tried to go for a drive, but upon leaving her front gate, which was the only entrance and exit onto to the property, he drove his camo 2021 Hisun side-by-side toward the front of her vehicle. He “bumped” the front bumper of his vehicle with the front bumper of hers, the report said.

The victim feared for her safety due to her belief that Harrison was drunk coupled with his irate behavior prior to this incident. He got out of his side-by-side and began to pull on her car door handles while yelling. He told her to give him the phone back, but she told him multiple times that she did not have it, the report said.

Due to Harrison’s positioning of the side-by-side and his irate behavior, the victim felt unable to drive her vehicle or leave on foot. He continued trying to open her vehicle by pulling on the handles until eventually leaving the scene in his vehicle, the report said.

The victim also recorded video evidence of the incident that showed Harrison walking around the outside of her vehicle. He appeared to pull on the door handles to get inside. The side-by-side was also seen blocking the victim’s vehicle from escape, the report said.

The deputy next spoke to a female witness who advised that Harrison left her driveway in his side-by-side at a high speed. He tried to make a left turn onto County Road 508, but while trying to do so, his vehicle flipped onto the driver’s side. It ultimately landed on the south side of the road, destroying a mailbox and causing $200 in damage, the report said.

Harrison got out of the side-by-side and proceeded to walk back to the witness’s driveway. She did not keep sight of him due to her trying to distance herself from him. He was being extremely irate, the report said.

The deputy responded to Harrison’s residence, located at 3749 CR 511A, Wildwood, on Thursday. Contact was made at the front of his residence, and he was subsequently detained, the report said.

Harrison was charged with leave scene of crash involving property damage, kidnap (false imprisonment) and simple assault (intent threat to do violence). He was transported to Sumter County Jail to be held without bond.
