A driver with a suspended license was arrested after he decided to ride a moped to Walmart.
Johnny Isaiah Goodfella, 42, of Summerfield, was riding the moped at about 11 p.m. Saturday across U.S. Hwy. 441 when a Marion County sheriff’s deputy noticed the moped did not have rear lights.

During a traffic stop, Goodfella was asked for his driver’s license. When he reached for his wallet, a makeshift narcotics pipe fell from his pocket. He was searched by the deputy, who found a second makeshift pipe in Goodfella’s pocket. The pipes tested positive for fentanyl. He was also in possession of a fanny pack, and when it was searched, a Gabapentin pill was discovered. Goodfella did not have a prescription for the drug.
The deputy fond that Goodfella driver’s license has been suspended since 2018 for failure to pay a traffic fine.
Goodfella told the deputy he had been making a trip to the nearby Walmart.
He was arrested on charges including driving while license suspended, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked at the Marion County Jail on $7,000 bond.
