President Trump continues to deliver on his mandate to restore America’s economic strength. For too long, unfair trade deals have hollowed out our factories and shipped American jobs overseas. President Trump is using tariffs – and the threat of tariffs – as a negotiation tool to force bad actors like China and Venezuela and enforcing fair trade.

For example, his first tariff threat resulted in Mexico finally stepping up to the plate to crack down on their cartels. The subsequent 25 percent tariff on Mexican and Canadian goods are to encourage these countries and companies within to comply with the agreements they made in the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement five years ago. I support President Trump’s efforts to defend American industries and put American workers first.

While the threats of tariffs and ongoing negotiations cause concerns and consternation as these conversations are happening in real time, I trust that President Trump will negotiate a deal that empowers every hardworking American to benefit.

If you own a small business and your supply chain is directly impacted by some of the tariffs that have gone into effect, please send me a detailed email.
