A speeding driver from Guatemala was nabbed for illegal re-entry into the United States after he was caught speeding on the Florida Turnpike in Sumter County.
Tomas Catinac, 40, was driving a blue Chrysler minivan at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday morning near Mile Marker 305 when he was paced at 80 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone, according to an arrest report from the Florida Highway Patrol. During a traffic stop, he indicated he does not speak English and does not have a driver’s license. He was identified by his Guatemalan Consular identification card.

A check with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement showed that Catinac had been deported in 2013 from the United States and had illegally re-entered the country.
He was taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
