Marjorie Emma (Bennett) Wimmer, of Summerfield, Florida was a cherished matriarch and beloved friend who passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 6th, 2025, at the remarkable age of 101. Born on February 9th, 1924, in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, Marjorie spent her formative years in a community that shaped her compassionate spirit before moving to the sunny shores of St. Petersburg, Florida

A proud graduate of the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Auburn, Massachusetts in 1945. Marge dedicated over 30 years of her life to the noble profession of nursing. Her unwavering commitment to her patients and her profession was evident in her active involvement with the Memorial Hospital Nurses Alumni Association, a testament to her enduring passion for healthcare and community service.

Marge was a lifelong Episcopalian, finding solace and purpose in her faith as a devoted member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Belleview, Florida. Her love for the church was matched only by her enthusiasm for life’s simple pleasures—whether it was savoring fresh seafood, immersing herself in a good book, or cheering on her favorite hockey team. Known for her thoughtfulness, Marge never missed a birthday, always sending heartfelt cards that brought joy to her loved ones. Family gatherings were a highlight of her life, with her extended loved ones traveling from Iowa, Nebraska, and Massachusetts to celebrate her birthdays, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

Family was the cornerstone of Marge’s life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Willard Wimmer, Sr., who passed away in 2014 after over 60 years of marriage. Together, they created a legacy of love that continues to thrive through their three children: Charles Willard Wimmer, Jr. (Lisa), Mark Wimmer, and Christine Williams. Marge’s warmth and kindness extended to her nine grandchildren, Chaz Wimmer (Anne), Joel Williams, Trevor Williams (Rachel), Jessie Williams, Matthew Williams (Sarah), Krystal Williams and Jennie Cayea (Kyle), Andrew Hemmer and Maura Hinkle and her nineteen great-grandchildren,Madison Wimmer, Sadie Wimmer, Nathaniel Wimmer, Matthias Wimmer, Zane Wimmer, Angel Wimmer, Rylyn Wimmer, Christian Williams, Taylor Williams, Hailey Couch, Kristina Williams, Shaila Plummer, Robert Plummer, Samson Gonzalez, Emalee Fitzpatrick, Noah Hemmer, Mia Hemmer, Amelia Hemmer and Connor Sisco, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of HarborChase of Villages Crossing for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Marge in her final days.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Belleview, Florida, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception to honor Marge’s remarkable life. Interment will take place at a later date in Royal Palm Memorial Gardens, St. Petersburg, Florida.

Marjorie Emma (Bennett) Wimmer’s legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
