Melvin Joseph McCue, 84, of Fenelton, PA, passed away suddenly on April 10, 2025, in Summerfield, FL. Born September 10, 1940, in Craigsville, PA to the late John D. and Cathern (McGrady) McCue, Melvin grew up on their family farm with his 10 brothers and attended Craigsville Elementary School and later graduated from Worthington West Franklin High School in 1958.
Following high school, Melvin joined and honorably served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1961. After his military service, he returned to Craigsville and worked at Graff Kittanning Clay Products until 1965. Melvin then embarked on a dedicated career as a Rural Letter Carrier, serving the community of Fenelton, PA until his retirement in 1996 after 31 years of service.
A loving husband, wonderful Dad and Grandpap/PupPup/Ole Granpappy, Melvin was deeply cherished by his family. His interests included enjoying the outdoors, especially spending time at “Camp” in Sigel, PA with his family, golfing and much traveling; along with softball and bowling in his younger years. He spent winters with his wife Eileen in Summerfield, FL, and was an active member of several community organizations including the Happy Hunters Club of Fenelton, the Elks Kittanning Lodge #203, the Moose Chicora Lodge #962, and the Brookville Fireman’s Club.
Melvin is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Eileen (Roesler) McCue, whom he married May 5, 1962, and one son, Randall (Barbara) McCue of Lancaster; three grandchildren: Melissa (Lorri) McCue (his favorite) of Butler, Bradly McCue (his favorite) of Shadyside, and Benjamin McCue (his favorite) of Lancaster. Also surviving Melvin are five brothers: Donald (Rose) McCue of Dunbar, William “Bill” McCue of Penn Hills, Paul (Donna) McCue of Fenelton, Kenneth (Nancy) McCue of Worthington, David (Linda) McCue of Worthington, and sisters-in-law Donna McCue and Sue McCue of Chicora, and Karen McCue of Fenelton; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by five brothers: Bernard McCue, John McCue, Gary McCue, Wayne McCue, and Raymond McCue; and two sisters-in-law, Joy McCue and Dolores McCue.
Melvin’s presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
