It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dorothy Schuster, who passed away after a hospital stay on April 21, 2025, at the age of 91in Panama City, Florida. Dorothy was a parishioner of St. Bernadettes Roman Catholic Church in Panama City Beach.
Dorothy was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on October 13, 1933, the child of John and Anna Wenglovski. Dorothy married John A Nudge in 1956, and widowed in 1960. Dorothy married Richard Schuster in 1962, also widowed, and began their new marriage with 5 children in Woodbury, New Jersey. Together, they had 3 more children, where Dorothy had her hands full as a mother of eight. Dorothy and Richard later moved to Arnold, Maryland, Middletown, Delaware, and eventually retired in The Villages, Florida. Dorothy and Richard moved to Panama City Beach in 2019.
Dorothy was a devoted parent, an avid reader, crafter, and a card shark in later years. As her children grew older, Dorothy spoiled her many Chinese Pugs and remained a dog lover throughout her life. She will be remembered for her good humored sarcasm that she passed on to all of her children. Dorothy loved decorating and baking for the holidays and had door wreaths for every season and occasion.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John A. Nudge (1960), her second husband, Richard J. Schuster (2019); her parents, John and Anna Wenglovski; and two sisters, Elizabeth Conforti and Marion Zimorowicz. She is survived by her sister Jean Murphy, eight children, including Paul Schuster (Phyllis), Richard Schuster (Jose), Roseanne Roberts (Richard), Joseph Schuster (Tracey), James Nudge (Jane), Daniel Schuster, Timothy Schuster (Amanda), and Matthew Schuster (Kathy). She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service and gathering will be held later in the year in Annapolis, Maryland, after internment at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery beside her beloved husband Richard.
