Jane Ann McAndrew, a resident of The Villages, Florida, formerly of North Scranton died Sunday, April 27, 2025, at age 93, at her daughter and son in law’s home in Florida. She was the widow of Thomas F. McAndrew who died on December 21, 2015. They were married 62 years.

Born in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Marie McDermott Hope.

Jane was a graduate of West Scranton High School. She was a stay-at-home mom when her children were growing up. Ann retired from PNC Bank, where she was a teller.

Surviving are children, Susan and Chuck Snyder, The Villages, FL, Sharon and Paul Baltrusaitis, Peckville, James McAndrew, Clarks Summit, Nancy McAndrew and Tom Lyons, S. Abington Twp; two grandsons, Christopher and Bryan (Erica) Baltrusaitis; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Mya and Emma Baltrusaitis.

Also surviving are a special niece Patricia (Fred) Brighton, and nephews Bob (Lori) and Jack Coolican, and Tom (Linda) West.

In addition to her husband Tom and her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Bob Hope, John Hope, Grace (Bob) Coolican, and Joan (Ray) West; her daughter-in-law, Charlene McAndrew and nephew Gary West.

While living in Scranton, she was active in activities at Holy Rosary Church. She was on the finance committee with her husband Tom, worked at the block party for many years and was involved in their quilting club. She also belonged to a ladies’ golf league at the Lakeland Golf Course. She partnered with Loli Burns. She and Tom spent many years as snowbirds in Florida with their friends from North Scranton, especially Ed Cordier. Mom and Dad had many good times with their dear friends, Martie and Paul Farrell of Endicott, NY.

After moving to Florida, she resumed golfing, learned mahjong at age 87 and enjoyed going to shows and ladies’ lunches. She loved watching the antics of her grand dog Mickey and grand cat Remy. She was a supporter of the Sonrise Alzheimer’s’ Respite program, where Sue, Chuck and Pat volunteer.

The family would like to recognize Cornerstone Hospice for their care and compassion towards Mom. In particular, we would like to recognize her angels: Kendall, Amanda, Christine and Sue. Also, the wonderful nurses at Cornerstone Hospice House. They provided comfort to all of us as Mom ended her earthly journey.

The funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral, Inc. 1030 North Main Ave. with mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 416 William St. Interment Cathedral Cemetery. Friends and family may visit on Monday, May 5, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in The Villages.
