A Wildwood man was arrested after an alleged attack on his pregnant fiance´.
Thomas James Hurd, 23, was asleep Tuesday morning at his home on Young Circle, when his fiance´, who is 36 weeks pregnant, woke him up, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. Her due date is May 28.
Hurd admitted he hit his fiance´ “in the head once or twice.” He added he “may have slapped her.”
The woman had suffered “significant bruising” around her left eye.
The couple already has one child and have been in a relationship approximately two years, the report noted.
Hurd was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated battery on a pregnant woman. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center where he was initially held without bond.
