For many years, the Kiwanis Club of Lady Lake has recognized teachers and staff of our local schools for their dedication to the children in our communities. This year was no different as a group of Kiwanians delivered apples to 14 schools in The Villages at Buffalo Ridge, The Villages at Middleton, Wildwood, Lady Lake and Fruitland Park.

“This is a wonderful way to recognize teachers and Sprouts is proud to help make it happen,” said James Acuff, produce manager for Sprouts Farmers Market in The Villages.

Sprouts discounted and provided more than 1,100 apples for the Kiwanis members to distribute.

Corey Gold, president of the Kiwanis Club of Lady Lake reiterated Acuff’s comment and added, “our club is dedicated to the children of our communities and Teacher’s Week is a perfect time to thank them for what they do.”

Gold, a 28-year member of Kiwanis is proud of his club members who work to enrich the lives of children from infancy through high school.

“We work with K-Kids in the elementary schools, Builders Clubs in the middle schools, and Key Clubs in the high schools. Many colleges have Circle-K Clubs, and all of these are part of Kiwanis,” Gold said.

In addition to these clubs the Kiwanis Club of Lady Lake also has an Aktion Club which provides learning activities for special needs adults.
