Morse family reaps what it has sown with raid at construction site

To the Editor:

There is a special irony in Tuesday‘s arrest of immigrant workers by ICE agents in The Villages.

For over a generation, illegals have been recruited by The Villages to facilitate their ceaseless new construction, now particularly in the newer southern areas. And to maintain the ever present manicured landscaping which all the residents enjoy. The billionaire Morse family has truly benefited by the fruits of this cheap labor. All the while contributing millions of dollars to extreme right wing, anti-democratic and pro-authoritarian causes. And of course a major recipient of their largesse with unintended consequences is one Donald Trump, who has unleashed a modern day Gestapo upon residents of the U.S. regardless of their legal status. For the Morses, it is truly now a case of reaping which you have sown.
