Lynda Ann Sokolowski

Lynda Ann Sokolowski, age 76, of The Villages, Florida passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, with her husband Jim by her side.

On this day we said goodbye to an extraordinary woman who faced Multiple Sclerosis with courage and grace. On May 20, 1948, Lynda was born in Chicago, IL to Edward and Lorraine Powers (Piotrowski). Lynda was a shining light in the lives of so many—known for her warmth, strength, and the deep love she showed to everyone around her.

Lynda was happily married to James “Jim” Sokolowski for 56 years and shared two amazing children, her daughter Susan Skupien (Sokolowski) and son Matthew and wife Tamara Sokolowski.

Her infectious laughter and vibrant spirit always lit up a room. Lynda’s favorite color was purple, a hue that reflects her joyful and loving nature. She treasured moments spent playing cards, bingo, and slots, but most of all, she cherished the time shared with her grandchildren, family, and friends.

Lynda was survived by her husband Jim, daughter Susan, son Matt, and her brother Craig and his wife Ann, brother-in-law Gene Bucci (Judi Bucci DCD), and sister-in-law Elaine Sokolowski (Matthew Sokolowski DCD). Her five grandchildren, Brian, Jeremy and Amy Skupien, Matthew James and Luke Sokolowski. Her three great grandchildren, Emma, Brian Jr. and Kaylee Skupien, and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Lynda was preceded in death by her father and mother Edward and Lorraine Powers (Piotrowski), sister Judi Bucci and brother-in-law Matthew Sokolowski.

To honor her legacy, we are raising funds for Multiple Sclerosis research. Our hope is that one day, no family will have to face this heartbreaking disease.

Please join us in celebrating Lynda’s life by supporting this vital cause. Every donation is a step closer to a cure.

In lieu of flowers please donate to support MS research.

With heartfelt gratitude,

The Sokolowski Family
