A fundraising effort has been organized for the young son of a Villages Public Safety Department firefighter who recently passed away.
Lt. Taylor De Marchis, 45, died May 26. Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society is in charge of arrangements. A date for a funeral service has not been announced.
He was a lieutenant with The Villages Public Safety Department and an MSC/Advanced Fire instructor at Valencia College Fire Rescue Institute.
“Taylor was known for his leadership skills and commitment to the brotherhood of the fire service and touched many lives. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him,” Valencia College Fire Rescue Institute said in a statement.
A fundraiser has been set up on GoFundMe with a goal of $8,000.
