To the Editor:

The fact that the metal roof has an extended life should be enough to convince our officials that they should be allowed in The Villages. Insurance companies want a new roof after 10 years. That means in the life of a metal roof a shingled roof could be replaces four to seven times.
Another consideration should be artificial turf. The products available today are remarkable. It would eliminate lawn care, irrigation, fertilizer and insect control.
