A Wildwood man was arrested on drug charges after a Burger King employee found him talking to himself in the parking lot.

An employee at Burger King on State Road 44 in Wildwood, called law enforcement to report a man in a vehicle talking to himself around 8:35 a.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The man, later identified as 32-year-old Michael Anthony Music, had been rocking back and forth for over 30 minutes.

A deputy responded to the restaurant and approached Music, who was in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. When he got out, his shorts were barely on, showing his boxers, and he had no shirt on. He was also trying to put one of his shoes on, the report said.

Music advised that he and his girlfriend, who was in the passenger seat, were looking for his missing shoe and some change in the vehicle to buy food. During this encounter, it appeared he was under the influence of narcotics due to his erratic movements and behavior. It did not make sense that it took him over 30 minutes to search for change and a shoe in a vehicle that did not have seem to have a lot in it, the report said.

As a result, the deputy asked Music for permission to search the vehicle. He agreed. The deputy opened the driver’s door and immediately noticed two syringes on the floorboard. Also in the door was a small cup with purple liquid inside, the report said.

Behind the driver’s seat on the floorboard, a syringe loaded with more purple liquid was located. The substance later tested positive for fentanyl. The two used syringes on the driver’s side floorboard tested positive for the same thing, the report said.

Music was subsequently arrested on charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and fentanyl. The Georgia native was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center with bond set at $3,000.
