In response to Marsha Shearer’s – “The No Kings Protests.”
In her opening she states the justification for this idiotic waste of time, “to combat the rise in authoritarianism and corruption of the Trump administration.” She says this as though it is a fact with no supporting evidence. Why? Because there is none!
She also states “The aim is to mobilize peaceful mass protests against Trump’s excesses of power and his treats to the democratic values of our country.” Well, we are getting another taste of “peaceful protests,” right now across the country. We will be the judge on Sunday whether or not that is true. My experience tells me that when a Democrat says something is peaceful, it is exactly the opposite. My eyes and ears tell me otherwise.
It is her opinion that we should revisit the Declaration of Independence in which we rejected the power of the British throne and replace it with the rule of law. What is she talking about? President Trump has been hobbled by the courts at every turn. He has had more injunctions filed against him than all of the other Presidents before him combined. Oh, and by the way he is abiding by ALL of them. So, where is the anarchy?
Her comparison of the grievances, delineated by the Founders is based on nothing but wrong-headed thinking.
He is bypassing Congress through Executive Orders. Really, the President of the United States is granted broad powers under our Constitution. When Congress fails to act, or conditions become so bad they must be addressed now, the President must act! And he has, in a more open and obviously direct manner than any other President. Not only did he tell us what he wanted do as a candidate, every time he does it, he holds a press conference and tells us why he is doing it. In the past, with sleepy Joe, we knew nothing and Kamala couldn’t tell us what day of the week it was.
He refused to render the military independent of civilian power by conflating both. The military advisors are independent, as is the Joint Chief’s of Staff. But the President is Commander in Chief of all the U. S. Military forces. What kind of nonsense is this pipe dream. Congress ultimately declares war but aside from that the President is in charge of the military while civilians advise.
He has set tariffs because they are necessary to protect the economy of the United States. All the prior Presidents were so uninformed that they sold our workers out to NAFTA, allowing China favored Nation Status and the rest of the world to tariff our goods or exclude our products from their markets. One simple fact, we cannot compete with emerging nations wages. Our standard of living is much higher. So, the one thing government should do is protect U. S. workers for foreign countries who are subsidizing their industry and dumping goods in the U.S. at prices lower than production costs forcing our citizens to pay their country’s unemployment. It is exactly why our steel, aluminum and automobile industries suffer to this day. Thank you Donald Trump for being wise enough to see through the BS!
Donald Trump is not denying any citizen due process. Our former President, I cannot bring myself to say his name, has done so much damage to our country by promoting, sponsoring and funding millions of “illegal aliens” in our country that we may never recover. The ICE officers who are grabbing up aliens from our streets are doing it that way because sanctuary states and cities will not cooperate with ICE by transferring them, while in custody, for proper processing. Therefore, the riot scenes developing across America are fueled by the real misinformation spewed by Democrats including Marsha Shearer.
With regard to the use of the military. President Trump witnessed during his first term what happens when no action is taken by state and local officials to prevent, not react to riots. In fact, the lesson was learned, the hard way, so he is not waiting for liberals who see no burning cars, rocks thrown at law enforcement agents, or highways blocked to prevent law abiding citizens the right to travel. Of course not! Don’t believe your lying eyes.
I happened to be in the U. S. Army, 1st Battation 3rd Infantry, “The Old Guard,” from May 1967 to September 1969. Much of our training was crowd/riot control. In October of 1967, our unit surrounded the Pentagon where rioters had broken in and attempted to occupy the building. In Spring, 1968 following the assignation of Martin Luther King, The Old Guard, set up machine guns on the Capitol steps and we occupied the City of Washington DC because of “peaceful protests,” that resulted in half the U. S. Capitol City burning. So don’t make statements that are not factual – our military has been used many, many times to quell riots. The fact that California has declared itself a Sanctuary for criminal aliens does not void the obligation of the President of the United States to protect us from all threats, foreign and domestic. Heaven help us, if the policies of California ever leak out into the rest of the country.
Without going any further, I will just say that from reading this article from Mahsha Shearer and past reports, it is obvious to me that she has no experience in government, no comprehension or understanding of reality or what it is like to deal with unelected bureaucrats who defy your direction and set up barriers to your policies. Contrary to popular belief, many of them are “at will,” employees for good reason. When a new President is elected and wants to change policies, he has the right and responsibility to do it without their obstruction or agreement. And, if you are “at will,” you risk being fired.
The President can also choose not to fund certain departments he believes are not effective or unnecessary.
My suggestion to anyone who believes as Marsha: After fourteen years in PA state politics and over twenty years in the private sector working in corporate tax, I can tell you from experience, it can be extremely frustrating working with entitled bureaucrats. I had little respect for the policies of several of our last presidents including Clinton, Obama and especially Sleepy Joe Biden. But, never would I say or accuse them of the kind of things that Marsha Shearer has said in her posts. Civility and common sense are gone and Trump Hate is here to stay. At least be civil and ride it out, as Republicans have for the three Presidents I just mentioned. Don’t late hate rule the day! The survival of our Country, as we know it depends on our loyalty no matter what you think of the current President.
President Donald Trump held noting back during his campaign. He truly is the most active, untiring President I have seen in my lifetime. He told everyone what he would do. Now he is doing it to the best of his ability. He is being blocked by the district court judges that have no authority – but he accepts it. These are not the actions of a King, only a fool would believe that! Kings don’t abide by court edicts, they send people who disagree to death. President Trump just wants to send them home. President Trump, tells you what he thinks is wrong, tells you how he will approach it, alters that approach as necessary then captures the best deal he can for America! All of the negative forecasts so far have been wrong! Why not give the man a chance?
These are not the actions of a King – no matter what Liberal commentators write or say! Marsha, get a grip!
